Downtown Youngstown streets remained closed early Monday after weekend Oh Wow event

Watermelons will explode and eggs will be dropped from 50 feet in the air in the middle of downtown Youngstown this Sunday afternoon.
Those are just two of many experiments that will be demonstrated as part of OHWOW!'s Silly Science Sunday.
The event will shut down part of Central Square, and W. Federal Street will be closed between Wick Avenue and Phelps Street. Due to construction, all of W. Commerce Street and the intersection at Phelps Street and W. Boardman Street are closed and do not permit thru traffic.
The event will include a variety of hands-on activities, exhibitors and stage shows involving science, technology, reading, engineering, art and math.
"Silly Science Sunday is a day meant for all ages to visit OH WOW! and get excited about STEAM education in the Mahoning Valley," Colleen Ruby Director of Visitor Services said. "We encourage exploration and experimentation at the museum every day, and Silly Science is an expansion of our mission."
Many exhibitors will be there including Youngstown State University College of STEM, NASA Glenn Research Center and the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics.
The event will run from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 18 in downtown Youngstown.
