Girard man indicted on rape charges for alleged sexual contact with minor

A Girard man was indicted in the Trumbull County Court of Common Pleas on rape charges for alleged sexual contact with a minor victim.
Twenty-three-year-old Jack Zeigler was indicted on three counts of Rape, four counts of Unlawful Sexual Conduct with a Minor, one count of Gross Sexual Imposition and two counts of Compelling Prostitution.
According to the indictment, between January 1, 2021 and May 27 2021, Zeigler allegedly engaged in sexual conduct with a 12-year-old victim. The indictment says Zeigler "purposely compelled the victim to submit by force of threat of force."
The indictment further states that between May 28, 2021, when the victim turned 13, and July 30, 2022, when police were notified of the alleged incidents, Zeigler allegedly continued having sexual contact with the victim.
In late July of 2022, Girard Police were told by a juvenile victim that they were the victim of various sexual offenses over the course of the past two years.
Police identified Zeigler as the suspect and police interviewed him in August, where police say he confessed to these accusations.
Police did not go into specific details of the alleged crimes that took place.
According to the indictment, Zeigler allegedly sexually assaulted a second male victim under the age of 12 by touching his genitals.
In addition, the indictment states that Zeigler had allegedly offered payment for sexual contact with both listed victims.
Zeigler is scheduled to be arraigned in court on Thursday, September 22 at 8:45 a.m. in the Trumbull County Court of Common Pleas.
