A Cincinnati area man has been charged with the rape of a minor in North Jackson.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, in August of 2019, a female minor told an employee at Truck World in North Jackson that she had been raped. Troopers say the incident occurred inside a commercial truck on the entrance ramp to I-76 westbound on Bailey Road.

Troopers checked the area and weren't able to find a vehicle matching the description, but did find an area on the ramp, which appeared to have had a vehicle sitting stationary for a long period of time.

Troopers later found a vehicle matching the description on Truck World's security cameras, but weren't able to gather specific information.

Troopers also worked with BCI for a potential DNA match and also attempted to cross reference familial DNA information, but this only produced results for distant relatives. These relatives were contacted, but troopers were still unable to narrow down their search.

In early 2022, investigators used electronic data analysis for the location, data, and timeframe that the incident occurred and issued warrants pertaining to the information, and were able to identify the suspect as 40-year-old Shavkat Abushukurov of Maineville, located in Warren County, Ohio.

The victim positively identified Abushukurov in a photo lineup presented to her.

Abushukurov was charged with rape and was taken to the Warren County Jail on Wednesday.

The suspect has since been transferred to the Mahoning County jail.
