Assessment teams to travel through Boardman to assess flood damage to homes
Boardman businesses and residents are still recovering from damages caused by Sunday's flood. That's why the township is getting ready to take the next step to assist those in need.
Boardman Township Administrator, Jason Loree says Emergency Management Agency (EMA) Assessment Teams will be coming to people's homes to assess damages caused by the flooding.
These visits will go on throughout the course of several days.
Austintown Fire Chief and Mahoning County EMA Head, Andy Frost tells 21 News that only residents who called the hotline to report damages will be visited, and visits will be announced by a phone call in advance.
Upon arrival, home / business owners will be given a letter signed by the EMA.
Boardman has been working in conjunction with EMA officials to document damages from the storm in order to apply for state and possibly federal assistance for residents.
