At about 7 o clock this morning, Boardman police received several calls from people on Ranier Trail, who woke to find their cars rummaged through or gone.

"I was very heated, I was very upset, as were my neighbors," said Boardman resident Alexsey Plotnikov.

People are missing airpods, phone chargers, money, guns and a white Honda Pilot, which was stolen from a driveway.

"We just didn't expect this to happen, especially this morning," said Plotnikov. "After all the flooding, you'd think the last thing that would happen is car break ins," he said.

Police tell 21 News every car that had been broken into was not secured.

"It appears that all the vehicles were left unlocked," said Sergeant Glenn Patton of the Boardman Police Department. "And the vehicle that was taken, the keys were inside of it," he said.

Five vehicles in total were hit, about 4:30 this morning and officers say this kind of thing doesn't happen often in that area.

"They did have some video we were able to obtain from the neighbors, that'll be forwarded to the detectives," said Patton. "At this time, we don't have any solid suspects," he said.

Police advise that before you get out of your vehicles, make sure you hide or take with you any valuables and most importantly, lock your doors.
