Cedar Point announces 'retirement' of one of its most popular rides
19-year-old Top Thrill Dragster, the world's first strata coaster, has reached the end of the line.

Cedar Point posted on its Facebook page that the longtime popular rollercoaster is being 'retired' in the Sandusky, Ohio, amusement park.
According to the post, the 19-year-old Top Thrill Dragster, the world's first strata coaster, has reached the end of the line.
The ride has been closed since August of 2021 when a piece of metal fell off and seriously injured a woman waiting in line for the ride. The ride first launched in 2003
Top Thrill Dragster was one of the tallest and fastest coasters in the U.S., sending riders up 420 feet with a 120-mile-per-hour launch.
