Woman accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of guns, ammo, coins, and jewelry from Austintown home
A Youngstown woman is in the Mahoning County jail accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of firearms, ammunition, jewelry, coins, cash, and other valuables from a home in Austintown's College Park development
The alleged victim, a 66-year-old Radcliffe Avenue man, told police he let a woman that he knows come to his home to do her laundry during the early morning hours of last Wednesday.
When the man came downstairs several hours later, he said the woman was gone, and his gun safe had been broken into.
According to a police report, nine weapons were missing from the safe valued at more than $3,300 and $3,000 worth of ammunition.
The missing weapons included AR15, AK47, and carbine rifles; two shotguns; three pistols, and a 357 Magnum revolver.
Also reported missing was a smaller safe worth $4,100 containing paperwork for the stolen guns and a coin collection, $4,000 in cash, jewelry, and family keepsakes with a reported value of more than $10,000.
The homeowner told police he believes there was likely more than one person involved due to the weight of the missing items.
The suspect, 34-year-old Alarria Marshal of Youngstown, was charged with safecracking, theft, and theft from an elderly person.
Arrested by Boardman two days after the alleged theft, Marshall was additionally charged with obstructing official business and resisting arrest.
During an initial appearance before a judge in Austintown, the bond for Marshall was set at $25,000.
