Fifteen men from all walks of life are scheduled for arraignment by a judge in Canfield on Tuesday after being caught up in a statewide law enforcement crackdown on human trafficking.
Seventeen men arrested locally in what the Ohio Attorney General calls “Operation Time’s Up” were rounded up beginning late last week, along with 39 other suspects in other parts of Ohio.
Designed to discourage the demand for human trafficking, the Attorney General says arrests included alleged buyers of sex and those allegedly seeking to buy sex from minors.
The Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force released booking photos of the suspects, as well as where they live and their occupations which include jobs such as factory workers, fast food manager, security officer, construction contractors, truck drivers, and a casino worker.
According to Mahoning County Court records, fifteen of the 16 men currently housed in the Mahoning County Jail are scheduled for arraignment in county court in Canfield at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Suspect Thomas Baker Sr., who was arrested by the Ohio State Highway Patrol, did not have charges filed in court as of early Tuesday.
Jake McMahon of New Castle, who was arrested in Columbiana County, has already been arraigned via video in Municipal Court in Lisbon. McMahon remained in the Columbiana County Jail on a $10,000 bond, awaiting another court hearing next week.
