Police have charged a 23-year-old woman after the car she was driving crashed into a utility pole in Warren, seriously injuring her and a passenger in her car.

Witnesses told police that the car traveled faster than 50 miles per hour along Tod Ave. SW Thursday afternoon when it swerved across the oncoming lane and struck the pole at the corner of Hoyt Ave. SW.

According to the Warren Professional Firefighters Local 204 Facebook page, Firefighters had to use a power tool to rescue the two people trapped in the car.

The car was totaled.

The driver, Jazlyn Myers of Warren, and a 23-year-old man who was riding in the car were both taken to Mercy Hospital in Youngstown.

Myers is charged with driving with a suspended license, reckless operation, and failing to maintain reasonable control of her vehicle.
