The largest class to graduate from Potential Development's School for Students With Autism crossed the stage at Stambaugh Auditorium Friday.

This is Potential Development's eighth graduating class, and consisted of 13 students. The school expanded to include a high school curriculum in 2013.

Some of the graduates had been enrolled at Potential Development since pre-school, and are moving on to the next step.

"We have a few that are going on to local universities here. Some are going directly into the workforce," Director of Marketing and Special Events Jodi Harmon said.

Amarah Parker, one of the graduates, performed a song for the guests and her fellow classmates at the ceremony. She's looking forward to college after graduation.

"I'm really happy with myself. I graduated with a 3.7 GPA. This means that I can finally go to college and further my education," Parker said.

Potential Development has served the Mahoning Valley for nearly 70 years. It provides education and therapeutic services for students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
