Construction will begin next week on the intersection of Route 62 and Addison Avenue near the Pennsylvania and Ohio border.

The Sharon Gateway Project will upgrade traffic signals, landscaping, ADA curb ramps and gateway signs for Sharon.

The website for the Americans with Disabilities Act says, "curb ramps are a small but important part of making sidewalks, street crossings and the other pedestrian routes that make up the public right-of-way accessible to people with disabilities."

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said the project will begin July 11 and finish in June 2023.

The project's contract cost is $934,471, and it's being funded by the Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside Program.

Drivers may encounter flaggers and delays while construction takes place.
