Trio arrested in historic Sheet and Tube company home
Three people are being held in the Mahoning County jail, accused of breaking into one of the abandoned Sheet and Tube company homes on Robinson Road.
Investigating a report of a possible trespasser late Tuesday, officers say they spotted 39-year-old Rebecca Heatherly through the second-floor window of a home.
Police say they also found 28-year-old Zachery Bruce and 25-year-old Dakota Bruce in the home.
The report lists Heatherly and Zachery Bruce as being homeless. Dakota Bruce is listed as having an address in Campbell.
According to the police report, a tent had been set up inside the home as if someone had been living there.
All three have been charged with breaking and entering.
Police say they found a hypodermic needle, pills, and glass marijuana pipes with Heatherly, who is also charged with drug counts.
The three are scheduled to appear in Struthers Municipal Court on Friday.
Built in 1921 for workers at the former Youngstown Sheet and Tube Company, historic preservation groups have been working to save the row houses.
