A Youngstown man is under arrest after allegedly firing shots inside his South Side home early Wednesday.

A woman inside a home on East Philadelphia Ave. near Zedaker Street called police shortly before 5 a.m. to report that she and two children were hiding from a man who was in the home.

Officers arrested 28-year-old Vernon Johnson Jr. about 15 minutes later.

Two ambulances were called to the home. However, police say no one was injured.

Johnson, who was already wanted for failing to appear in court on previous drug and other charges, was booked into the county jail on charges of improperly discharging a weapon.
