Youngstown Police arrested the mother of a three-month-old boy after he tested positive for cocaine.

Police were dispatched to Akron Children's Hospital's Boardman campus in reference to the boy testing positive for cocaine.

Hospital staff told police that his mother, later identified as 36-year-old Rose Geisler advised staff she had fallen asleep, and upon waking up, found vomit on her son's onesie and was breathing abnormally.

Staff also told police they were advised that the boy was sleeping with a blanket and upon waking up, Geisler observed the blanket over his head.

Police say Geisler told staff that her brother had recently stayed a few nights at their home on Jacobs Road and that he "might have had cocaine on his hands" when touching her son.

Police say Geisler was advised by staff not to leave the hospital, but she did when staff left the room to call police. It was later determined that she left with another man in a vehicle.

Upon arrival to Geisler's residence, Geisler was detained by the Forensic Identification Services Unit (FISU) as police spoke with her, as well as her brother and the man that she left the hospital with.

FISU was given permission to search the home and evidence was collected, but the evidence collected has not been revealed at this time.

Geisler is in the Mahoning County Jail and is charged with Child Endangerment.

Police say her son was flown to the Akron Children's main campus in Akron for treatment and is in stable condition at this time.
