A Jackson Township is being sent to prison for eight years after pleading guilty to gross sexual imposition and sexual battery.

Ronald Timlin, 63, was sentenced on Wednesday under a plea deal reached last month.

In August, Timlin was secretly indicted on charges of rape, attempted rape, and gross sexual imposition.

According to authorities, sometime between September 2016 and August 2017, Timlin raped a child who was nine years old at the time.

The indictment says the same child was victimized by Timlin in 2019 when he allegedly attempted to rape the child.

Timlin will also have to register as a Tier Three Sex Offender.
