Animal charity seeking ARP funds, donations for emergency situation

Animal Charity in Boardman is currently seeking ARP funds from Boardman Trustees as the organization manages their way through an emergency situation.
Members of the shelter say they've rescued so many animals, they've had to put cages into their offices and even bathrooms. Now, they're quickly running out of room.
Animal Charity's Operations Director, Jane MacMurchy tells 21 News the shelter is bringing more animals in faster than they can get their existing animals into homes. As a result, space is getting more and more scarce.
"We're about to lose our offices altogether to make more space," MacMurchy said.
MacMurchy went on to say that Animal Charity is trying to raise $600 thousand in 120 days in order to relocate from their Boardman and Canfield Facilities into a larger facility.
That's why MacMurchy turned to Boardman Trustees, attending a meeting Monday evening asking for ARP funds, as well as for the public to chip in any way they can.
"We're always told by the community, 'If there's anything I can do please let us know,' and we're letting you know," MacMurchy said.
MacMurchy tells 21 News that she had a "very positive interaction" with trustees and that she "felt very welcomed" at the meeting. This leads her to believe that the trustees will help her cause or at the very least point her in the right direction.
Trustees reportedly told MacMurchy they will look into whether or not ARP funds can legally be used this way and review the request, but it will take more than just ARP funds to reach this goal in time.
Animal Charity is also asking the public to donate to help the cause. You can donate via Animal Charity of Ohio's Facebook page or on their website.
