Power has been restored to more than 7,900 homes and businesses who were previously without electricity late Thursday morning, according to the Penn Power website.

At around 11:15 a.m. local 911 dispatchers received word that a traffic light was out at Hadley and Williamson Roads in Hempfield Township.

Dispatchers tell 21 News they received numerous calls about power out in the northern part of the county.

According to FirstEnergy's online outage map, as of 11:30 a.m., 7,944 customers lost power in scattered areas throughout the county.

That number translates to more than 15% of the county without electricity.

Power was restored to all outages around 1 p.m.

FirstEnergy spokesperson Lauren Siburkis tells 21 News the cause of the outage is still under investigation.
