A Masury woman charged with child endangering is free on bond after police say a two-and-a-half-year-old boy wandered from his home.

According to a police report, a couple living on Third Street say they spotted the boy on their front porch Sunday afternoon.  When they opened the door, they say the child walked inside.

After noticing that neighbors two doors down appeared to be looking for the child, the couple let them know that the boy was in their home.

Police talked to the boy’s mother who told them that there were three adults nearby while her son was playing outside.

She said it was five or ten minutes before they discovered that the child was missing and they began looking for him.

Sandra Byrd, 43, was handcuffed and booked into the county jail.

She pleaded not guilty to one count of child endangering.

Byrd is free on bond.  Another Court hearing is scheduled on Thursday.
