Youngstown Police have released the name and picture of a man they say is wanted for a murder committed last month.

Police are searching for 20 year-old Vashaud D. May. They say he is wanted for the murder of 24 year-old Rawsheem Aponte.

The alleged crime took place April 26th in the 3800-block of Mohawk Ave.  Two other people, including a toddler, were injured during the shooting.

Upon arrival, officers noticed a grey Chevrolet Camaro with all three victims inside. Aponte was the driver of the vehicle. 

Police said there were more than 50 shots fired of different calibers indicating that multiple rifles were used. Police say the victim was chased down the street while being shot at.

The incident was one of several reports of gun violence in the city in recent weeks.

The day after the shooting, police say they received reports of several homes being shot up on Jackson Street and Auburndale Avenue. No one was injured, but property was damaged according to police.

May is considered armed and dangerous.
