The Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste Management District has teamed up with the Alliance for Substance Abuse Prevention to conduct a drug take back event.

The event begins at 9 a.m. until noon at the Trumbull Collection Facility at 5138 Enterprise Blvd., Warren.

Residents can bring expired, unwanted or unused prescription medication free of charge.

Law enforcement officials will receive and destroy these medications. Officers are asking that medications are kept in their original containers when being turned in.

All medical containers will be recycled.

In addition to the drug take back program, the facility will also be open to accept electronics, appliances and household hazardous waste.

This event is open to all Trumbull and Geauga county residents.
