Arrest made in connection with murder of 27-year-old Youngstown man
The Mahoning County Sheriff's office confirmed that a man is in custody and facing felony charges related to the November murder of 27-year-old Marquise Lewis.
Officials say Timothy Underwood, 29, is being booked into the Mahoning County Jail on charges of Complicity to Murder and Burglary because of his alleged ties to Lewis' death. A woman found Lewis dead on the bathroom floor of a South Side home on November 22, 2022.
"A neighbor had heard a loud bang and they wanted us to investigate," Youngstown Police Captain Jason Simon said after Lewis' death. "We're still investigating how entry was made into the house."
Reports said Lewis had large amounts of blood pouring from his head when EMS arrived. Police did not have initially have any suspects.
According to records from the Mahoning County Municipal Court, the felony charges against Underwood were filed on Tuesday, but no arraignment has been scheduled yet.
