The stepdaughter of the victim that was shot and killed on Depot Road has been charged in connection with the murder investigation.

Columbiana County Sheriff Brian McLaughlin told 21 News that 28-year-old Alyssa McGuire is facing an obstruction of justice charge in connection to the investigation into the shooting death of her stepmother MaryAnn McGuire.

The 67-year-old was shot and killed at her home on Depot Road on March 18.

MaryAnn McGuire was found by a family member on the porch of her home.

The Columbiana County Sheriff's Department previously arrested 27-year-old Justin Givens, Alyssa McGuire's boyfriend, in connection to the death of MaryAnn.

Alyssa McGuire appeared in court via video arraignment Friday morning and is being held in the Columbiana County Jail with a bond of $50,000.

Both Givens and McGuire face charges of obstruction of justice, endangering children and improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle and have pretrial hearings set for Monday afternoon.
