Another Texas Grand Jury Considering charge against Cleveland Browns Quarterback
A Grand Jury in Texas is considering evidence related to another alleged sexual misconduct incident against new Cleveland Browns Quarterback, Deshaun Watson.
According to The New York Times, a grand jury in Harris County, Texas had previously rejected nine criminal cases against Watson earlier in March.
However, according to The New York Times, a 10th criminal complaint filed with Houston Police Department described an alleged incident outside of Harris County's jurisdiction.
This 10th case from Brazoria County is the last known criminal case pending against Watson at this time. Now a Grand Jury in Brazoria County is considering this case.
In a statement released on the Browns' Facebook Page on Sunday, Browns Co-Owners, Dee and Jimmy Haslam state that they had "spent a temendous amount of time exploring and investigating the opportunity" to trade for Watson.
The Haslams went on to state that they have done "extensive investigative, legal and reference work over the past several months" and "will respect due process" during the ongoing legal proceedings against Watson.
According to The New York Times, Watson has denied any wrongdoing and Watson's attorney Rusty Hardin said that any sexual acts that occurred were consensual.
The New York Times reports that the lawyer for the 22 women accusing Watson of sexual misconduct and/or assault, Tony Buzbee says the Grand Jury is expected to deliberate and issue a decision regarding the case either Thursday or Friday.
