The Trumbull County Fair is adding another element to the fair this year. 

They will be holding a competition with all of the schools in Trumbull County. Each school will be showing its school spirit by painting a 55-gallon steel drum to be displayed at the fair. The schools will also create flower arrangements on top of the barrels. 

The barrels will then be judged by residents of Sheppard of the Valley Assisted Living. 

Winners of the competition will receive plaques to display at their schools, and students will be featured in the local newspaper. 

Fifteen schools have already enrolled in the competition. 

Schools will have until July 1, 2022, to complete their barrel.
