Farrell man accused of leading Brookfield Police on chase
A Farrell, Pennsylvania man who police say was already wanted on several warrants, faces new charges following a police pursuit.
Brookfield Police say when they attempted to pull over a car at Budd and Charles Street Tuesday night for a broken license plate light and fictitious plates.
According to police, a woman who was a passenger got out of the car, and the car kept moving.
An officer chased the car which eventually drove through a dead-end, crashing over a hillside.
The driver, identified as 37-year-old David Perna of Farrell, got out of the car and ran away into a wooded area, only to be captured by police a short time later.
Perna was taken to Mercy Hospital in Youngstown for treatment of injuries.
Police say Perna will be charged with failure to comply with a police order, falsification, criminal damaging, and resisting arrest.
The woman was released.
