COVID-19 cases per capita (per 100k) went down in the Mahoning Valley this week. However, all three counties are still in the high range in terms of case numbers.

This week, Mahoning County is at 126.4 cases per capita compared to its 208.6 two weeks ago, Trumbull County is at 111.6 cases per capita compared to 166.7 two weeks ago and Columbiana County is at 185.5 cases per capita compared to 278.8 two weeks ago.

This means that while cases have gone down, all three counties are still at a high risk of transmission of COVID-19.

With per capita cases, the CDC categorizes the risk transmission as follows:

- <10 per capita: low< p>

- 10 to 49.99 per capita: Moderate

- 50 to 99.99 per capita: Substantial

- 100+: High

This week's statewide average is 160.7 cases per capita.

Cases per capita values are pulled every two weeks and updated every other Thursday. These values exclude incarcerated individuals.
