The Youngstown Fire Department had to call for backup engines to help them battle a fire on Sunday as the trucks that crews originally arrived in slipped down a hill.

YFD responded to the steep roadways on Pointview Avenue near Sheridan Road shortly after 1:30 p.m. for reports of a possible structure fire with three family members and multiple cats inside.

Crews on sight said that the fire was contained and the family plus their pets were able to make it out safely.

YFD believed that this had been an electrical fire

Besides the flames, there was another difficult battle for the fire department to overcome.

When 21 News arrived at the scene, one of the engine's proceeded to slide down the sharp hill and got trapped on the narrow road with another firetruck.

The crews called dispatch and asked for smaller engines to come and assist them put out the fire, saying it was difficult to drive up the hill because of the icy slope and size of the engine.

The fire department continued to struggle removing both engines from the area almost two hours after originally arriving.
