Ohio Turnpike issues travel ban for high-profile vehicles
The Ohio Turnpike has announced on Tuesday that it will be issuing a travel ban for high-profile vehicles due to the upcoming winter weather conditions.
The ban is effective starting Wednesday at 7:00 a.m. and ending Friday at noon. The Ohio State Highway Partol (OSP) will be in charge of enforcing the ban.
The following vehicles will be affected by this ban:
-All long combination vehicles (LCV) triple-trailer combination commercial vehicles
-All LCV long double-trailer combination commercial vehicles (enclosed trailers only, including Conestoga type trailers) exceeding 90 feet in length
-Mobile homes/Office trailers
-Boat and horse trailers towed by passenger vehicles or pickup trucks
-High-profile campers and enclosed trailers, which are defined as trailers designed for a person of average height to stand in
Self-propelled motor homes, low-profile trailers, pickup trucks with slide-on camper units, vehicles towing fifth-wheel type trailers or any other type of trailer towed by passenger vehicles or pickup trucks will not be affected by this ban.
Commercial trucks towing single flatbed or box type trailers, flatbed double-trailer combinations less than 90 feet in length and any other double-trailer combination commercial vehicles less than 90 feet are also exempt from the ban.
