Having knee-deep snow on the ground hardly seems like the time to be thinking of summer festivals, but organizers of the Basilica of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Italian Festival in Youngstown are doing just that.

After canceling the festival for two years in a row due to COVID, planners have announced on their Facebook page that they intend to hold the four days of fun, food, and music from July 21 through July 24, 2022.

Organizers have been working throughout the past few months holding meetings for volunteers as well as raising money through raffles and spaghetti dinners.

Last April plans for the July festival were called off due to pandemic concerns.
