A popular Columbiana theater is here to stay after fears of closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Main Street Theater (5 N. Main St.) is here to stay after John and Beth Kufletiner of Kufleitner Chrysler Dodge Jeep and Ram of Columbiana purchased the theater.

City Manager, Lance Willard tells 21 News that this is a historical site for the Columbiana area.

"It's a historic and celebrated theater that makes us so special," Willard said.

The Kufleitners will spend the next five years acquiring the property. Once acquired, they will then lease it out to the Columbiana Cultural Collective who will show their projects among other features at the theater.

One feature that will be shown at the theater upon completion is an upcoming film currently in production by the Valley's very own Josh Menning. 21 News has more on this upcoming film here.

The Columbiana Cultural Collective was formed by Columbiana Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Erich Offenburg in April of 2021 in order to keep the theater from closing due to COVID-19.
