Those who make minimum wage will get a raise at the beginning of the year.
Effective January 1, 2022 Ohio's minimum wage will increase from $8.80 per hour for non-tipped employees to $9.30 per hour.
That's a 50-cents raise. Last year, in 2021, Ohio raised it's minimum wage by 10-cents.
Tipped employees will also see a pay increase from $4.40 per hour to $4.65 per hour.
Some retailers are already paying above the set minimum wage. Hobby Lobby Stores announced that it is raising its minimum full-time hourly wage to $18.50, also effective January 1, 2022.
The federal minimum wage is currently $7.25 per hour.
