Ohio Military Reserve members to help with staffing shortage at Cuyahoga Co. Corrections Center
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced his plan to help the Cuyahoga County Corrections Center (CCCC) with its temporary staffing shortage.
According to the release, staffing assistance will come from the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction and the Ohio Military Reserve (OHMR).
CCCC's staff shortage is due to a reemergence of COVID-19 cases at the facility.
Twenty-five OHMR members will begin their 30-day assistance at CCCC on December 28.
Other interventions will be in place in addition to the support from OHMR members.
COVID-19 guidance from the CDC and Ohio Department of Health will be rigorously implemented. Staff posts not considered essential will be temporarily closed at the facility.
The plan also calls to reduce all in-person visits, including attorney visits unless absolutely necessary and expedite the onboarding of staff in the hiring process.
