As the death toll climbs in the aftermath of dozens of tornadoes that ripped through six states, the need for help continues to grow.

The American Red Cross is one nonprofit on the front lines of getting that aid to those who need it when disaster strikes.
 
But the organization depends on your generosity to help others. step up and step in when disaster strikes.
"Making sure everyone has a safe place to stay, food to eat, critical relief supplies, emotional support and comfort," said Regional Communications Director Jim McIntyre.
 
The Northern Ohio Region American Red Cross will be sending two emergency response trucks with two person crews to help deliver meals, water, and critical supplies to meet short term needs. Plus they will be helping meet long term needs.
 
"We will also be sending volunteers to work in the shelters that have been established, and that will be opening in the future," added McIntyre
 
 He tells us the American Red Cross has already provided more than 160 blood products to hospitals in areas where tornadoes left devastation behind.
