Catholic Diocese of Youngstown announces merger of two churches
The most recent announcement is the merger of St. Michael Parish in Windham with St. Ambrose Parish in Garrettsville.
More changes are coming to local churches as part of the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown's 2019 Pastoral Plan.
The most recent announcement is the merger of St. Michael Parish in Windham with St. Ambrose Parish in Garrettsville.
The announcement formalizes the current arrangements as there has not been a consistent community at St. Michael Parish for a few years.
Mass for those that attended St. Michael will now move to St. Ambrose and St. Joseph in Mantua.
St. Stanislaus Parish in Youngstown has also been canonically suppressed. The church celebrated its final Sunday mass in June 2020.
All records of baptisms, confirmations, marriage and Christian burial will be preserved by the Diocese.
