Warren JFK graduate and professional golfer Jason Kokrak is etched in local history after being inducted into the Warren Sports Hall of Fame on Sunday.

The Warren Sports Hall of Fame was formed in 1988 and honors those who have made substantial contributions to the area. Kokrak exemplifies that, formerly leading the Eagles to two state golf championships in 2000 and 2001, and representing the area next to some of the best professional golfers in the world.

Kokrak has had a recent string of success on the PGA Tour, recently winning the Houston Open, for his third win on Tour. His first came in October of 2020, when he won the CJ Cup at Shadow Creek. Kokrak followed that win up with his second just seven months later in May of 2021, taking first place at the Charles Schwab Challenge.

Kokrak says it's a special feeling to be inducted into the Warren Sports Hall of Fame, all while enjoying the last several months.

"It means a lot, I try to represent the city of Warren to the best of my ability," Kokrak said. "I moved back to the Ohio area to raise my kids the same way I grew up so, very honored to be inducted. Crazy whirlwind of I'd say 14 or 15 months."

Jason was one of 13 inducted into the Warren Sports Hall of Fame, others included: Congressman Tim Ryan Ed Antonelli, Dave Binko, Holly Chapin, Sam Covelli, Mike McLain, Jim McGee, Pat Merrick, Anthony Payiavlas, Vanness Provitt, Vernita Provitt and Dr. Calvin Washington.
