According to ESPN, Valley native and long-time former Oklahoma head football coach Bob Stoops will be the Sooners' interim head coach in its upcoming bowl game, after reports that Lincoln Riley has accepted the head coaching position at USC.

Stoops coached Oklahoma for 18 years and is the Sooners' all-time winningest coach, with 190 wins. Stoops was also a two-time Big-12 Coach of the Year.  He's been a part-time special assistant with Oklahoma since 2017 according to Sports Illustrated. The Cardinal Mooney graduate was selected for the College Football Hall of Fame in January, and is set to be inducted next month. 

Lincoln Riley is reportedly leaving Oklahoma after leading the Sooners to four straight Big-12 Titles and three College Football Playoff appearances in his first four years.
