Flagship Food Group issues voluntary recall of TJ Farms Select frozen cauliflower
Flagship Food Group has issued a voluntary recall of a limited number of cases of TJ Farms Select brand frozen cauliflower.
The recalled products have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which could cause serious, potentially fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people and those with weakened immune systems.
While healthy individuals may exhibit short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headaches, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillborns among pregnant women.
The recalled product is 16 ounce TJ Farms Select cauliflower with the lot code 2077890089 and the UPC code 75544000604-3
The cauliflower was imported from China. States affected by the recall include Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Wisconsin.
No illnesses connected to the recalled products have been reported at this time. The recall initiated due to a sample of cauliflower yielding a positive test result for Listeria monocytogenes in a random sample test by the Minnesota Department of Agriculture.
Consumers who have purchased the recalled product should not consume it and instead dispose of it.
No other TJ Farms Select, nor Flagship Food Group products are included in the recall and only cauliflower products with the specific lot codes and UPC codes are affected.
