Two demolitions took place in Vienna Township to help remove blight in Trumbull County on Monday afternoon

The Trumbull County Council of Governments collaborated with the township to help curb the cost and save taxpayer money. The two properties are on State Route 193, right in front of the Vienna Police Department. They are now the fifth and sixth vacant properties that have been torn down.

"This property of land is now useful for other entities," said Trumbull County Council of Governments president, James LaPolla. "It could be to increase the parking lot, it could be an administration building, it could be retail."

Trustees said they will discuss these options at a later date. The properties could even serve as a recreations center or an addition to the township's cemetery, according to the trustees.
