Sharon police are currently investigating a fatal crash in Sharon on Saturday, Oct. 30 resulting in the death of a pedestrian.

The crash occurred at approximately 7:39 p.m. on Prindle St. when a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle while crossing the freeway southbound. 

The driver and passenger of the vehicle are unharmed. The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The Mercer County Coroner's Office is assisting with the investigation. Results are currently pending.

It is still under investigation on whether or not impairment was a factor in this crash. Currently impairment is believed not to be a factor for the driver.

The pedestrian's identity is currently being withheld pending notification from the immediate family.
