A Chicago woman who was arrested in Braceville Township in June of 2020 after State Troopers observed her driving along the Ohio Turnpike carrying nearly nine pounds of cocaine is now awaiting sentencing.

Acting Attorney General, Bridget M. Brennan announced that a federal jury has found Tashe Goins (32) guilty of possession with the intent to distribute four kilos of cocaine after a two-day trial.

In June of 2020, Goins was traveling from Chicago, IL to Pittsburgh, PA when she was stopped by OSP Troopers near the Ohio Turnpike on I-80 in Trumbull County for a traffic violation.

Police canines alerted officers to the presence of a narcotic odor coming from the vehicle. Officers proceeded to search the vehicle and found approximately four kilograms of cocaine inside a blue suitcase.

Goins was arrested and charged with possession and intent to distribute controlled substances and will be sentenced on Jan. 26 2022.
