Divers find body of East Liverpool man missing for seven years

Divers along with East Liverpool Police recently located the body believed to be of an East Liverpool man who has been missing for seven years.
In 2014, Charles Fluharty was declared missing after his sister called East Liverpool police notifying them of the situation.
Fluharty's sister noted that he was wheelchair bound and drove a 1999 black cavalier with an Ohio handicap license plate 755XEL.
Seven years later, the vehicle as well as a body believed to be Fluharty was uncovered in the river at the mouth of Yellow Creek.
Former East Liverpool detective and current St. Clair Township detective, Greg Smith alongside East Liverpool officer, Darin Morgan and a team of divers were able to locate a vehicle matching the description. Upon investigation, divers confirmed that a body was in the vehicle.
The body appeared to have an amputated leg and appeared to be in the driver's seat area.
The body was secured and the vehicle was removed from the river. Once removed, the body was taken to the Jefferson County Morgue.
Jefferson County advised that they would have BCI process the body and collect evidence in order to confirm the identity.
