Youngstown City Health District offering Pfizer booster at various locations
The Youngstown City Health District (YCHD has announced that as of Tuesday, Oct. 5, the district will be offering Pfizer booster shots for qualifying individuals at various locations throughout the Mahoning Valley.
Clinics will be held at various libraries across the city on Tuesdays from 11:30 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. Additionally, clinics will be held at the Eugenia Atkinson Recreational Center (903, Otis St. Youngstown) on Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
All appointments can be scheduled here or by calling the YCHD at 330-502-4276. Walk-ins are also accepted at all clinics.
In addition to Pfizer boosters, these appointments can also be used to receive primary doses of the Pfizer vaccine, as well as Moderna and Johnson & Johnson.
Flu shots will be offered at the clinics as well free of charge with proof of insurance and $25 without insurance.
Those who qualify for a Pfizer booster shot are as follows:
-Individuals 65 and over who have completed their primary Pfizer series at least six months ago.
-Individuals between 50-64 with medical conditions who have completed their primary Pfizer series at least six months ago.
-Residents aged 18 and over in long-term care settings who have completed their primary Pfizer series at least six months ago.
-Individuals aged 18-49 with medical conditions who have completed their primary Pfizer series at least six months ago.
-Employees and residents 18 and over at increased risk for COVID-19 exposure (schools, health care, corrections facilities, homeless shelters) who have completed their primary Pfizer series at least six months ago.
-Front line essential workers including first responders (health care workers, firefighters, police officers and congregate care staff), education staff, food and agriculture workers, manufacturing workers, corrections workers, U.S. Postal workers, public transit workers and grocery store workers who have completed their primary Pfizer series at least six months ago.
