Have you ever worked on a car with your mom or dad and learn how to check the oil, change your tire or check the thread on the tires? Most likely you have, and kids at Champion High school and Middle school were able to get that experience Friday afternoon.

Rebecca Baxter, a CHS teacher, put on the show, which has been going strong for five years.

In 2016, the vehicle day extravaganza only had three cars and has grown to 14 community members bringing vehicles from 1915 to 2021 and even electric vehicles.

"I changed a fuse in my car and I felt on top of the world. I want my students to have the same opportunity," said Baxter.

The idea is for students to gain first-hand knowledge about various scientific processes related to cars and how they run.

Car owners allowed students to engage in hands-on activities such as checking tire pressure and oil gauges and reading instrumentation.
