Marshals arrest Youngstown man for multiple sex crimes against children
U.S. Marshals have arrested a 63-year old Youngstown man facing a 24-count indictment charging him with committing sex crimes against two children, one of them as young as 11.
Dagoberto Gomez-Espinoza was booked into the Mahoning County jail Monday after a county grand jury indicted him on multiple charges of rape, gross sexual imposition, and sexual battery.
One of the victims was only 11 years old when the alleged rape took place between 1998 and 2000.
A conviction on the rape charge could result in a life prison term for Gomez-Espinoza.
Twenty-two of the charges were filed in connection with alleged crimes committed between 2003 and 2012 against a victim who was as young as thirteen.
Assistant Mahoning County Prosecutor Caitlyn Andrews tells 21 News that it took some time for the victims to come forward and report the crimes.
