The Mahoning Valley Skilled Trades expo will be returning to the Canfield Fairgrounds this month.

The skilled trades expo is a hands-on event that will offer individuals a first hand look into different jobs that are hiring across the valley, and will have the opportunity to interact with more than 15 different trades that are hiring now.

The expo will be held from 3p.m. to 6p.m. on September 22, 2021 at the Canfield Fairgrounds and separate student sessions will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 2p.m. September, 22 until September, 23.

"A lot of people don't realize the variety of skilled trades positions available and the financial security these careers can provide," said Gary Hartman, Services Director at The Builders Association of Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania.

"This is a chance for men, women, and students to discover how their talents and interests align with different trades. These careers offer many attractive perks like paid training, industry leading compensation, great benefits, job security, advancement opportunities, and more," says Hartman.

The event will feature interactive displays from the skilled trades, and will allow participants to experience the industry firsthand under the supervision of certified industry professionals.

Students will have an advantage at this expo, and can experience extended time for individual attention and one on one activity. Mahoning, Columbiana, and Portage counties students will attend September, 22. While students from Trumbull, Mercer and Lawrence counties will attend on September, 23.
