The cruiser of former Poland Village Police Chief Russ Beatty is parked outside the Village Green.

Beatty died over the weekend.

You can see a memorial with flowers and pictures of him were put there as a reminder for his service to the tight knit community.

A Facebook post from Poland Village reads:

The Village of Poland was saddened to learn of the loss of Chief Russ Beatty. Chief Beatty served the Village with pride and integrity for decades. He was an institution unto himself and the entire Poland community will miss his presence. Our deepest condolences go out to the Beatty family.
