The Mahoning County Farm Bureau, the Mahoning County Livestock Committee and the Canfield Senior Fair Board present the 13th annual Canfield Jr. Fair livestock project to benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank. 

Starting at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 2 the Canfield Jr. Fair will be holding a livestock auction in the new Canfield Fair Event Center. At the auction, you can purchase livestock to donate to the Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley to benefit families in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties. 

The Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley is a member of Feeding America has proved food to those in need in the tri-county area through homeless shelters, church pantries, soup kitchens, shelters for battered women, school pantries and distributed over 15.6 million pounds of food in 2020. 

The auction is also adding a new addition to its app this year that can help people bid on livestock. 

Bidders can now download the Canfield Fair App "Canfield Fairgrounds" from the app store and look for the Auction Icon when the animals become available for sale. You will then be redirected to the auction site where you can register to bid on an animal. 

Livestock available to purchase for donation to the Food Bank includes market beef, hogs, poultry broilers, turkeys, goats and lambs. Mastercard, Visa, cash and personnel checks will be accepted.
