A Cortland man faces a host of sex charges handed up in a secret indictment alleging that he raped several boys.

Donavin Chipps, 25, was arrested by U.S. Marshals on Friday after the Mahoning County Grand Jury indicted him on four counts of rape, two counts of gross sexual imposition, and one count of unlawful sexual contact with a minor.

Mahoning County Sheriff’s detectives investigated a tip that led to the indictment that could lead to a life prison sentence if Chipps is convicted.

Investigators say the three alleged victims ranged in age from 6 to 14 years old when incidents took place between March 2014 and July 2015.

Chipps was arraigned on the indictment on Tuesday and is scheduled to appear for another court hearing in October.
