Pulaski woman killed, Youngstown woman hurt in multi-car crash
A Pulaski woman died, and a Youngstown woman was seriously injured in a three-car, chain-reaction crash in Lawrence County.
Mahoning Township Police say Nancy Black of Pulaski was driving a Kia Soul that was rear-ended by a Chevy Cobalt that had stopped along West State Street to allow a tractor-trailer to enter the roadway.
Black, whose car was pushed into a third car that was also stopped along the road, was taken to UPMC Jameson Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The driver of the Cobalt, Shasta Sapp of Youngstown was taken to Mercy Hospital with serious injuries. Sapp’s child was also taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation.
Police say Sapp is the driver who was at fault.
The driver of the third car was not seriously injured.
That section of West State Street was closed for four-and-a-half hours while police conducted an investigation.
