A Warren man remained in the Trumbull County Jail early Tuesday after allegedly threatening to shoot police who were trying to arrest him the night before.
Officers went to a home on the 200 block of Dickey Avenue NW shortly before 7 p.m. Monday after learning that 38-year-old Lamar Mitchell was inside. Mitchell was wanted for escape, violating a protection order, and traffic violations.
Police went inside the home, but quickly withdrew when they heard a voice say, “I will shoot you!”
Officers from Warren Township, State Troopers, and a Critical Response Team surrounded the home.
After a more than two-hour-long standoff, Mitchell came outside with his hands held over his head.
